Governance.

Sustainability is a key part of Matrix’s corporate strategy, managed by the Sustainability Committee. Led by Dato’ Haji Mohamad Haslah bin Mohamad Amin, this committee, which includes members from all business units, oversees sustainability efforts. The committee update the Board regularly on performance, important issues, and planned actions, and ensure that sustainability initiatives are effectively monitored and implemented.

Sustainability Management Team.

Executive Director, Sustainability Officer and Senior Management of Matrix.

  • Serves as the executive gateway for all sustainability and climate initiatives before escalation to the Board-level.
  • Reviews and refines proposals, briefing papers, KPI dashboards and risk assessments from the Sustainability Task Force ("STF"), ensuring they align with commercial objectives and the Group's ESG
  • Allocates budget, assigns cross-functional resources and resolves operational issues to enable effective implementation of approved initiatives.
  • Drives stakeholder engagement and internal awareness, equipping staff and business units with the knowledge and tools to meet ESG objectives.

Sustainability Task Force.

Executive representatives from Property Development, Construction, Hospitality, Education, Healthcare and Corporate Services, and led by the Sustainability Manager.

  • A cross-functional working group to translate and operationalise approved sustainability policies, strategies, initiatives and pilot programmes across Matrix's business divisions.
  • Reports progress, challenges and learning back to the Management Team for review and onward escalation as required.
  • Fosters collaboration across divisions to embed sustainability in everyday decision-making.

  • Holds ultimate accountability for Matrix's long term sustainability and climate related risk management and strategy.
  • Reviews and endorses the Group's ESG and climate agenda, including major policy positions and resource allocations.

Governance Structure

  • Comprehensive Board oversight on material ESG topics, as well as risks and opportunities arising from said topics.
  • Board and Senior Management receive timely reports on ESG matters, thereby enabling them to remain updated on ESG initiatives and programmes.
  • Governance structure enables the development of effective reporting structures between senior leadership as well as the working level.
  • Enables quick and effective two-way dissemination of information and promotes the development of an ESG oriented culture across the organisation and the value chain.

Sustainability Committee Responsibilities

  • Develops and approves Group-wide sustainability priorities, policies, processes and governance procedures.
  • Monitors ESG performance against Key Performance Indicators ("KPIs"), targets and risk-mitigation plans.
  • Tracks emerging sustainability risks, including climate, human rights, occupational health and safety, assessing potential impacts on financial and non financial value creation.
  • Collaborates with the Risk Management Committee ("RMC") to integrate sustainability into enterprise-risk frameworks.
  • Reviews and signs off the annual Sustainability Report to ensure transparent, accurate disclosure.

Adcote Matrix School (“AMS”) Beach Cleaning at Pantai Cahaya

In conjunction with World Ocean Day, the Student Council organised a community cleaning event involving 40 participants, including teachers, students, and parents, to raise environmental awareness.

Matrix Concepts’ EV Charging Hub Initiative for Green Mobility

Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad, a leading player in the property development and investment sector, is spearheading the push towards sustainable transportation through its innovative Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Hub initiative. This initiative reflects the company’s commitment to fostering green mobility and supporting the global transition to cleaner, more sustainable energy solutions.

In line with this commitment, the total number of cars utilizing the EV charging facilities reached 287 in FY2024 and surged to 468 as of December 2024 for FY2025, underscoring the growing adoption of green transportation solutions.

Back to School & Meal A-Day Programme

As part of Matrix Concepts’ CSR initiative, we provide school essentials and nutritious meals for an entire academic year, benefiting 129 students from various schools.

Contribution to Majlis Bandar Raya Seremban (MBS) for Building Surau

Contributed RM300,000 to MBS for building surau in Hijayu Aman, Bandar Sri Sendayan.
